CHICAGO, IL – Local man Greg Russo, 30, who attended the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2) recently, believes only the actors who play many of the fandom world’s favorite characters in movies and television shows should be allowed to cosplay their characters.
“Look, no matter how good a cosplay is, it’s never going to look exactly like what we see in the movie or show,” Russo said. “And if it’s not 100 percent perfect, what’s the point?”
“Also, I saw a lot of Wonder Woman and Black Widow cosplayers at C2E2, but normal girls just don’t look like Gal Gadot or Scarlett Johansson. So it kind of looks silly when they wear the costumes,” he continued, apparently believing his opinion of a woman’s physical appearance is, in some way, relevant.
“I get that people are just trying to have fun. But only the actors themselves, wearing the actual costumes from the production, can really pull it off,” Russo said, revealing his snobbery and general douchbaggery.
